Violet Suede Zip Boot with Scored Line Pattern

Lines are scored across the suede at angles so they catch differently as the nap moves. Each is crushed nap, soft at both edges, and varies from pair to pair. They are densest over the vamp, where several cross at near right angles, and thin out to a few long ones up the shaft. The colour lightens across the quarters and goes almost black at the toe.

The sole and heel are chestnut leather, left much lighter than the upper, which is the main contrast on the boot. The heel is one low block with no lift lines in it, bevelled at the top and cut back at the breast. Stitches run round the sole edge in the dark band under the suede, and the chestnut below is brightest under the toe.

Silver side zip, suede pull tab. The tab is a folded loop of the same suede and stands clear of the collar. The only smooth leather on the upper is the narrow binding round the topline, stitched in a pale thread that also runs down a raised seam on the quarter.
