Dark Burgundy Wingtip Derby with Jute Braided Midsole

Dark burgundy patina worked deep enough that it reads almost black at the toe and along the welt. Across the middle of the vamp the colour opens out to a lighter red brown, then darkens again at the facing edges and over the heel.

Full wingtip with medallion punching, red lining, dark laces. The wing seam and quarter edges carry a punched line of alternating large and small holes, with fine stitching run just inside it. Two pairs of eyelets on open derby facings, laced with round matte grey cord.

A natural jute braid is set into the midsole all the way round, which is the only light thing on the shoe and lifts an otherwise very dark pair. It sits in the channel between a narrow dark welt and the sole, and runs unbroken from the heel breast round the toe.

The leather sole edge is stained dark brown and cut close to the upper. The heel is a low squared block. Inside, the red lining comes up to the topline and shows at the tongue.
