Python Embossed Monk Strap with Ombre Patina and Lugged Sole

The whole upper is python embossed calf. The patina runs mustard at the collar, through tan across the vamp, and closes to black at the toe and along the welt, so the scale pattern reads differently at each stage. The emboss changes size: the quarters and counter carry a tight small cell grain, the vamp and toe wide overlapping scales that shrink towards the tip and end in a hard gloss.

Single strap with a polished silver pin buckle. The strap is that fine grain in mustard, the lightest leather here, stitched along both edges and burnished dark at the cut edge. The tail runs under a narrow keeper and is set with a rivet.

Underneath is a black lugged rubber sole on a cream midsole with a red stripe, which is a deliberate mismatch with the dressiness of the upper. A cream braided cord runs the welt line above that stripe, with an even stitch just inside it.

The lining shows tan at the topline and again at the throat under the flap.
