Hand-Tooled Trifold Wallet in Navy with Turquoise Piping

The front panel is vegetable tanned leather, carved by hand and left a light tan. A rose opens low on it, petals layered and shaded, and long pointed leaves fan up into a C scroll near the top. The carving runs off the top of the panel and off the wallet's left edge, and carries on across the fold.

The leather around the panel is smooth and black. Navy thread runs along the top edge, along the base and down the folded spine. The left edge has no stitch line: the tooled panel ends there at the wallet's edge. No metal on the piece.

The turquoise runs on three sides: under the black top band, above the black base, and down the right where the black overlay meets the panel. Both right-hand corners are cut on the diagonal. The left side has none. The fold face carries its own two turquoise lines. It is the only bright colour on the wallet and it stays at the edges, which keeps the carving as the thing you notice first.
