Hand-Tooled Floral Belt in Rust Full Grain Leather

Unlike the border tooled belts, this one is carved across the full width. Flowers, leaves and scrolling vines run the length of the strap with no plain channel left anywhere. The antique sits in the cut lines and the stippled ground between the stems, so it goes dark where the tool went deep and bright on the raised petals.

Antiqued rust finish, silver pin buckle, dark brown keeper with a rivet. The buckle is a plain rectangular frame with rounded corners and a centre prong, polished and unengraved. The billet is a separate strip of dark brown leather, folded round the bar over a short row of brown stitches and posted to the strap with a silver stud.

Edges are painted near black and burnished flat. The back is the dark brown flesh side, rough and unlined. The tip is cut to a rounded point with the carving running into it, a flower centred where most belts leave a blank. Tooling this much of a strap by hand takes most of a working day.
