Hand-Carved Floral Cap Toe Oxford in Cognac
Cap toe oxford with floral scrollwork carved into the quarters by hand, in cognac patina with brogue punching and a burnished toe.
Flowers and scrolling vines are cut into the hide across the quarters, the vamp and the heel, then shaded so the carving holds depth instead of flattening out under polish. The ground between the motifs is stamped with a fine matted texture, so the petals stand proud.
The cap toe is left plain and burnished, which gives the eye somewhere to rest. Brogue punching along the cap and facing seams, dark laces, leather sole, low stacked heel. The welt is stitched close and even the whole way round, and the sole edge under it is stained the same dark brown as the heel.
The eyelet facings are smooth calf with no tooling, so the lacing sits on a quiet panel and the carving runs around it. The punching is gimped along its edge, large holes alternating with small.
The burnish is graded. It goes near brown at the point of the toe and lifts back to amber behind the cap seam. The heel counter is shaded the same way. The collar is lined dark.
