Cognac Croc Embossed Monk Strap with Brass Buckle

Large scale croc embossing across the whole upper, patinated so the tops of the scales come up light cognac and the cuts between them stay dark. The shading is done by hand after the embossing, not before. The cells are not all one size: large and squared over the vamp and toe, small and tight on the strap.

Across the toe the colour moves from pale cream through orange to near chocolate at the tip. The shift happens inside the cells, so one scale can be pale at one end and dark at the other.

Single strap with a brass buckle. Leather sole with a stacked heel stained to match. Plain toe, no punching anywhere. The buckle is a plain D-frame, flat faced and unengraved, and the strap is punched for adjustment under it.

A row of small stitches runs along the strap edge and round the collar. The sole edge is trimmed tight to the upper and burnished dark brown, and no welt stitching shows along it. A plain brown lining shows inside.
