Chestnut Brushstroke Patina Chelsea Boot with Ribbed Panel

The patina here is left visible on purpose. Light and dark chestnut are brushed on in long strokes down the shaft and across the vamp, so the finish looks closer to grained wood than to dyed leather. The strokes leave a pale band across the middle of the vamp and darken to near black at the toe.

In place of the usual flat elastic, the side panel is a ribbed leather insert stitched in rows. The ribs sit side by side, each outlined by a row of fine stitching, and the panel narrows towards the vamp. A pale bound edge runs round the topline and up the pull tab.

Leather pull tab, leather sole, and a block heel with a slight Cuban taper. The welt is narrow and close trimmed, its stitch row visible round the toe, and the sole edge is polished almost black.

The pull tab is the lightest leather on the boot, a pale honey against the chestnut shaft. The toe is a soft almond with no cap seam, so the brushwork runs across the vamp unbroken.
