Black Saffiano Leather Card Holder

Saffiano is a cross hatch finish pressed into the grain. It resists scratching better than smooth calf, which matters for something that lives in a pocket. The hatch runs on the diagonal and the pressing is uneven, so the black sits flat and mottled across the panel and lifts to a sheen at the slot edges.

Four card slots across the face with a slip pocket behind them. The openings run the full width of the panel and stop at the side seams. Tonal stitching, edges painted and burnished. The stitch sits about two millimetres in and holds its spacing round all four corners.

Each slot layer steps out past the one below it, so the piece is thickest at the top and thins to one panel at the bottom. The cut edges take a gloss the flat grain does not, which is what picks the four lines out of the black.

The MG mark is pressed in silver foil low on the front panel. No metal on it anywhere. Thin enough for a jacket pocket.
