Black on Black Spectator Wingtip Oxford in Calf and Suede
Spectator wingtip oxford worked entirely in black, polished calf against black suede, with red lining and a leather sole.
The spectator is usually a contrast shoe. This one keeps the construction and drops the contrast: polished black calf on the wingtip, heel counter and facings, black suede on the saddle and quarters. The calf throws a hard white band across the toe cap while the suede beside it stays flat, so the pattern shows up in the sheen.
Full brogue punching throughout, red lining as the only colour in it, black laces. Every seam where the calf meets the suede is gimped into a fine zigzag. Along the wing the punching runs as one large hole ringed by small ones, and the toe cap has a teardrop medallion.
Leather sole and a low stacked heel. The welt is narrow and the stitch row sits close in to the upper. At the heel the lifts read as stacked lines, warm brown where the leather is cut.
The red lining runs up the quarter and over the tongue, and a thin red edge shows beside each eyelet row, so the colour is still there once the shoe is laced.
